The AGM will held this Wednesday, February 22, 2012 from 11:30AM until 1:00PM at the Noble Pig Brewhouse & Restaurant (map). You are free to order form the menu as you choose.

The meeting will include:

A general election for board positions
A review of the past years activities
A presentation on the upcoming projects currently under way
Announcements of upcoming events

In conjunction with BCIC, New Ventures, and TRU, the Kamloops Innovation Centre is hosting Building A Business Case for emerging, start-up and growth technology companies, inventors of new technologies and entrepreneurs.

Join Mike Volker as he shares his experiences and recommendations on how to build a great business case that will attract investors. Mike has over 30 years of experience with technology ventures, as both an entrepreneur, mentor and as an investor. In 2009 he was named Angel Investor of the Year. Attend this presentation and learn how to build your business case with the knowledge of what Angels really want.

Following the presentation there will be an opportunity to connect with others involved in the development of technology-based business.

E-Exporting : Considerations for Exporting Technology

The Interior Technology Industry Association is proud to present an E-Exporting seminar at their monthly members luncheon. During this comprehensive seminar, lawyers from Clark Wilson LLP will provide an overview of key considerations when exporting technology to the US and other international markets. Topics discussed will include: copyright, patents and trade secrets, trade-marks, privacy, counterfeiting & export permits, financing for technology businesses.

Annual General Meeting

The ITIA is holding the Annual General Meeting on Feb 16th, 2011 from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM at Vittorio’s Restaurant, 1810 Rogers Place in Kamloops.

Lunch will start at 11:30 sharp (soup, sandwiches, coffee, etc) with the meeting commencing from 12:00 noon and ending at 1PM sharp. Lunch is $16 per person (GST and gratuity included).

We will be reviewing the action items form the ITIA Strategic Planning Session held by the board in December, completing a financial review, and holding board elections.

Board Members Strategic Planning Session

This January, the Board of Directors for ITIA is holding a strategic planning session to identify the key activities, services and projects that ITIA should focus on in the upcoming year. Member input is much appreciated and required.

Members of the ITIA were emailed a survey in December of 2010 and reminded in early January. The information collected is important to ensure we have the most effective meeting. We understand that some of the questions may be difficult to answer but appreciate your efforts to tell us your thoughts. The board will be reporting on the findings of this meeting at the AGM in February 2011.

ITIA Website Update

We are happy to announce that we have created a new online presence for the Interior Technology Industry Association. With the help of two new Kamloops companies, Design Off The Block and Next Step Media we feel we have created a compelling, and useful resource for our member companies and the general public.

Next Step Media (http://www.nextstepmedia.ca) was responsible for the design of our new website. The look and feel, navigation elements and styling were all designed to have a light feel and relay the importance of our message without being too technical in nature.

Design Off The Block (http://www.designofftheblock.com) was responsible for the implementation of the design. They took the new design and created a web standards compliant custom theme for WordPress.

We are exceptionally grateful to these companies for the efforts, and the ITIA memberships.
